Over three weeks in December, members from our board were in Ghana to foster partnerships with organizations working to end fistula. We had productive visits to the Mankessim and Tamale Fistula Centres. We were also able to meet with staff at the UNFPA office and the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection to discuss ways in which WHOI can support fistula care. At Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, we met with fistula patient Ruhiya Issa, who shared with us her experience of having fistula and the stigma she faced. We have now launched a fundraiser to build capacity at the Mankessim and Tamale Fistula Centre. Click here for fundraiser. See highlights below and stay tuned for updates.
